Dutch Coast Race: Rice and Mouden For The Win

Sean Rice powered his way to another World Surfski Series victory today at the Dutch Coast Race about 20 miles west of Amsterdam in Castricum aan Zee, Netherlands.

Njord delivered the downwind, as the 19 kilometer North Sea dash packed a solid push for paddlers.

The win was Rice’s second of his 2016 campaign, complimenting his early season win at the EuroChallenge.  Jasper Mocke finished second at 2:35 back with David Szlachta off by another 29 seconds.

Oscar Chalupsky followed in fourth overall, a mere 18 seconds off the podium, taking the top spot among Masters.

Angie Mouden notched her Second World Surfski Series win of the year as well, besting Chloe Bunnett and Sara Raphael respectively.

Mouden tasted victory earlier this year at the Nelo Summer Challenge and currently sits at sixth in the WSS standings.  The win will likely push her into the top three.

The next stop of the series will see paddlers taking on the Breizh Ocean Race in Brittany, France October 21-23.
